Two different views.
First: Russia made a huge mistake when they tried to pull Cuba, an independent state, into their sphere of influence. Dam near got US into full out war possibly using nuclear weapons.
Fast forward to today. The United States/NATO made the same mistake in trying to pull Ukraine into our sphere of influence.
Cuba was in our backyard and the Ukraine is in Russia’s backyard. Both the US then and Russia’s plan now is to *change the governments in Cuba and Ukraine to protect their sphere of influence.

Biden's Cuban Missile Crisis
Joe Biden's perverse legacy, if that term even applies anymore, may well be determined in the coming weeks by his handling of events in Ukraine.

When the Bush administration announced in 2008 that Ukraine and Georgia would be eligible for NATO membership, I knew it was a terrible idea.

Second: The worst casualties of war will be the Ukraine civilians. Second Russian civilians. Third United States civilians. However, for US the harm will only be financial..... so far !
We are in the position that what ever aggressive policy we follow will only make the problem worse for civilians with possible very long term results!

25 citizens a day are killed by Illegal aliens, 12 murders and 13 traffic accidents.
ABC News - Jan. 10, 2008
I wish the media could shed a few tears for our own citizens.
If you have zero compassion for US at least report the news without all the poor *Mexican stories.
Some estimates put the large population increases in the US are 70 to 75% due to illegal aliens and legal immigration.
A environmental disaster in
the making. At least be concerned for the environment!?

*If you have lived in California you probably know Poor Mexican Stories can be about any individuals or groups. It refers to a style of guilt journalism.
*this is not to infer that the moral and ethical situation is the same as the Cuban Missel Crisis and the invasion of Ukraine. But, the
politics are the same and the results were easily predictable !
