Question: How to teach our children grade school thru 12th grade.
A short overview. Very short.
This is where you start. The beginning of modern civil rights.
Magna Carta Libertatum, commonly called Magna Carta, is a charter of rights agreed to by King John of England at Runnymede, near Windsor, on 15 June 1215. First drafted by the Archbishop of Canterbury to make peace between the unpopular King and a group of rebel barons, it promised the protection of church rights, protection for the barons from illegal imprisonment, access to swift justice, and limitations on feudal payments to the Crown, to be implemented through a council of 25 barons. Neither side stood behind their commitments, and the charter was annulled by Pope Innocent III, leading to the First Barons' War.

Defining liberalism
John Loke's (1602-1704) philosophy found in the Declaration of Independence is not a concidence. The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson who was an avid reader and disciple of Loke (considered the Father of Liberalism). Contemporary liberalism has retained the fundamental commitiment to individual liberty. Manuel Velasquez - 2005
The important historical events all happened before the signing of Declaration of Independence
The foundation of our Republic is Christian values and liberal philosophy, especially liberal political philosophy. The great achievement of The Founding Fathers was to put these ideas on paper in the form of The Declaration of Independence and The Constitution especially, The First Ten Amendments.
Even though Limbaugh, Hannity, Republican Party and the NYT's does not or can not understand..it is imperative the children understand how long it took to get to the Great Charter and to the Declaration of Independence or it will all be lost. You can not expect citizens to cherish what they do not know or have never been taught.
“Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn.”
