"States have the authority to enforce immigration laws and protect their borders, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox said in a legal brief on behalf of nine states supporting Arizona's immigration law." The President keeps repeating over and over again immigrants need a 'pathway to citizenship.' This is just a lie at worst and mis-leading at best.. The entire world has a pathway to citizenship. Yes, to follow the rule of law does take longer. But, if you are the right color..no wait.
But, I do agree with the President on one thing. We do need some legal immigration reform. We need to rescind the 1965 immigration acts. And, simply re-adopt what was already in place prior to 1965. (From the Obama Chronicles 2009).

"Arizona may not pursue policies that undermine federal law.” NYT. - "As the Supreme Court upheld a central provision of Arizona's controversial immigration law on Monday" - Huffington Post. I think you both the Times and Post have it backwards. It is not controversial to enforce the law as Arizona is a State with all the rights thereof. What is controversial is Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck and President Obama subverting the laws of the State and the Several States by executive order. Both actions by the Police Chief and President clearly illegal actions by public employees. To borrow a phrase from Pogo; We have met the enemy and the enemy is the public employees at every level of government !? (From NYT and Huffington Post comments).
